Echinacea, purple coneflower (echinacea spp) Some of the uses are: immune modulator, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, detoxifying, heals wounds, and stimulates saliva. In the native American culture it has been used as a remedy for toothaches, snake bites and septic conditions. Some of the western uses are viral and fungal infections, throat infections in booting the immune system, allergies and much more. Me personally I love this herb in my cold and flu tonic, Because of it's immune system boosting benefits. It's great as a preventative and treatment for upper respiratory infections. The number of things that this plant is good for can't even be all listed here. You'd be reading for awhile! This plant can be used in a tea, capsules, tincture, decoction among other things. AS ALWAYS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do your own research this is just a highlight of a herb that I think is great and needs more recognition

Good morning we have a new herb highlight we're going to talk about.
Before I start let me just say that you should always always do your own research! The information provided here is just the the tip of the iceberg when it comes down to medicinal plants and what their benefits are. Today we are talking about Queen of the meadow (Meadowsweet, Filipendula ulmaria) This wonderful herb also known as Nature's Aspirin it's great for reducing inflammation and relieving pain. Some of its properties are: Anti-inflammatory Antirheumatic Diuretic Inside of the queen of meadow there is a type of substance makes it operate the same as aspirin. Giving it the name, Nature's Aspirin it is called salicylates. This herb does not have blood thinning agents in it unlike the OTC aspirin. Some warnings are! If you are allergic to aspirin to don't use this herb! Also if you take aspirin daily do not use this herb (one or the other). If you are pregnant or breastfeeding do not take this herb!!!! I had a cup of this tea this morning and I have to say my back pain eased up really quickly. Even though I did sweeten it with a little honey. It is very bitter!!! Would probably pair well with some orange to help cut the bitter! I am using the leaves and the stems. 12/4/2020 0 Comments Herbs that are great for women!!!Welcome back to our blog!
